I am more evil than I ever could have feared,
More loved than I ever could have imagined.

Why

This pain, the cascading struggles, endless unanswered whys
is it well worth a future exchange?

Anticipating a fading promise...
it sure seems so.

I certainly didn't want this!
But He does.

His reason?
Refining, purifying, freedom!

I groan and grieve
like a kidney stone, this too shall pass

Hope in hopelessness
anxious patience

Reaching for whisps of relief
maybe a distraction, but no comfort at all

People, things and stuff
what a disappointment!

A promised companion groans with me
He intercedes... at His discretion
A Comforter unseen

Narcissism

“Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live.”

Transformation

W. H. Auden, “We would rather be ruined than changed; we would rather die in our dread than climb the cross of the moment and let our illusions die.”

Vain Pride

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
`My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away".

Percy Bysshe Shelley

The JackAss

The story is told of an old jackass on a farm. For years he had worked the farm without giving too much trouble (For a jackass.). One day, not paying attention, he falls into a hole. The farmer hears the commotion, and finds the old jackass in deep trouble. After pondering the situation, he decides the jackass is too old to be much help anymore. And besides that, the hole needs to be filled anyway. So the farmer gets some help (There are always people willing to throw dirt.), and begins to fill the hole. Now this may be just an old jackass, but with each shovel full, the jackass shook the dirt off, and stepped up a little more. Just some thoughts for any jackass in a deep hole with lots of dirt being thrown.

IT IS FINISHED

It is finished.
A scheme.
Anger and hurt join hands with cunning.
It is finished.
How it executes such vicious vengeance!
A vow destroyed, a family twisting for life!
It is finished.
But... is it really done?

It is finished.
A plan of bitterness that gives birth to murder.
A living death, a funeral with no ending.
It is finished.
The whip of guilt swings harshly,
And the unbridgeable span of rejection matures.
It is finished.
The root of bitterness is planted.

It is finished.
The hard, heartless judgement.
The ignorant, arrogant sit high and mighty.
It is finished.
Justice is perverted,
Peace has vanished.
It is finished.
Consequence will reclaim its place.

It is finished!
The cry echos thru the ages,
Darkness and despair disintegrate.
It is finished!
The remedy, the restoration,
hung on a cross.
It is finished!
Hope springs from perfect love.
